“I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church, of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God, the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints.” |
“So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.” |
To understand the what Jesus meant when He said “It is finished!”, we have to look into what is being constructed. The most significant construction that took place in the Bible is the construction of the Tabernacle and the Temple of God, that nearly 470 verses of the Bible was alloted to describe the design intricacies of the buildings. The Architect of the Temple was God Himself, as He told Moses, “See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain”.
“who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, “See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”” |
God is Spirit, and He created men in the physical realm. The Spirit is invisible. In order to teach men of the heavenly things, God uses physical symbols to communicate to men. The physical symbol “serve as a copy and shadow of the heavenly things”. Therefore, He told Moses, “See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”
“And it came to pass, when Solomon had finished building the house of the LORD and the king’s house, and all Solomon’s desire which he wanted to do,” |
The Temple has three main compartments.
1. The Holy of Holies
2. The Holy Place
3. The Outer Courtyard.

God commanded Moses to store the Ten Commandments as well as the whole set of Laws in the Ark of Covenant. A veil was placed as the divider between the Holy of Holies and The Holy Place.
You shall hang the veil from the hooks, and you shall bring the ark of the Testimony there within the veil. The veil shall separate for you the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies.” |

When Jesus breathe His last, the veil of the Temple was torn into two!
“And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split,” |
Why did the veil of the temple broke in two from top to bottom?
Those who have an ear, let him hear!
The Temple is a symbolic pointer to YOU, your body! It is not a piece of real estate, a building or something man made.
“Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” |
The 3 compartments of the Temple is referring to our entire being.
The Holy of Holies – Your Spirit (or your subconscious)
The Holy Place – Your Mind (or your conscious)
The Outer Court – Your flesh and blood
Then the veil of the temple was split into two, the two inner rooms became one room. The connection lies in the following verse.
”..having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one NEW MAN from the two, thus making peace” |
This new man, is New Creation.
”For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation” |
The New Room now is vacant. Instead of an earthly priest, by our own free will, we can invite the Holy Spirit to reside in this new room by simply believing is Jesus!
And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit” |
Why are there such a huge division amongst believers today that there are over 37,000 christian denominations?
Why do men seek to visit the Temple Mount in Israel believing that it is a mystical place?
Why do men conscerate physical stuctures?
Why do men wear a symbol of a cross around their neck, believing that it somehow yields mystical powers?
Why do men drink a cup of grape juice and eat a piece of bread believing that it is the actual flesh of Jesus??
“And He said, “Go, and tell this people: ‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand; Keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’ “Make the heart of this people dull, And their ears heavy, And shut their eyes; Lest they see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, And return and be healed.”” |
It is because they have defiled the temple. When the subconscious is defiled, the conscious mind is unable to understand.
‘Therefore, as I live,’ says the Lord GOD, ‘surely, because you have defiled My sanctuary with all your detestable things and with all your abominations, therefore I will also diminish you; My eye will not spare, nor will I have any pity.” |
