Great Expectations

AN UNDEFEATABLE ARMY

Do you sometimes feel that you will never be able to successfully execute the mission God has called you to in these last days? Do not worry. This army of the Lord spoken of in the second chapter of Joel cannot be defeated. It goes forth as relentlessly as a horde of army ants set on accomplishing its mission. It leaps over mountain tops, runs upon walls, enters into houses. The earth quakes and the heavens tremble as the Lord gives voice before His army. His camp is very great, and strong is the One who executes His word. It will not fail.

True this army has enemies. If there were no enemies there would be no need for an army, but none can stand before the prophetic Word of God that is coming forth in this hour. If you are giving out the Word of God exactly as He gives it to you, the power of all heaven is behind you. If you compromise your message, or fail to deliver it for fear of offending, you have rendered yourself useless in this battle. If you alter it in any way, it is no longer the Lord who utters His voice before His army.

There is a people in the earth today whose only desire is to see the Kingdom of God come into full power in the earth, to see His will done here on earth even as it is in Heaven. Note that I did not say “there are people,” but “there is a people.” People singular, one united body with all the power of Heaven behind it. This is the army described here in Joel. And before this united body of Christ, this remnant in the earth, nothing shall be able to stand. God utters His voice in prophecy and His Word does not fail-it accomplishes that for which it was sent.

The victory is certain. Absolute surrender to the will of God is called for and, having settled this point once and for all in your heart, you need not fear failure. You may not be popular, indeed you will not be, but you will be effective to the pulling down of strongholds, and the establishing of new paths to walk in. You will be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to dwell in, as you turn away from doing your own will on His holy Sabbath, and walk always in the rest of the Lord, doing always that which He gives you to do, and saying always that which He gives you to say. Blessed be His wonderful name!
